INTERNAL COMPETITION – JOB OPPORTUNITY

A NEW JOB OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE WITH THE

CORPS OF COMMISSIONAIRES – SOUTHERN ALBERTA

as

COMMISSIONAIRE PHOTO RADAR OPERATOR,

CALGARY POLICE SERVICE, SPECIALIZED TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT UNIT

The Photo Radar Operators are peace officers that work within the Specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit of Calgary Police Service and are responsible for conducting enforcement at designated sites assigned to them through the Directed Deployment Program and set up their units in accordance with their training. They are responsible to make accurate notes of violations during their shifts and make necessary camera adjustments to ensure continued quality of violation images while in operation.

The work schedule for the successful applicant is a four on four off rotation but varies either 0600 – 1600 hours or 1500 - 0100 hours.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION

  • Must be a present employee of the Corps of Commissionaires – Southern Alberta

· Must provide proof of the successful completion of a minimum of High School

· Advanced computer skills most notably Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are essential

· Successfully complete a CPS enhanced security clearance background check

· Personable team player with a proven ability to operate independently in a wide variety of dynamic and challenging situations

· Enthusiastic and self-motivated with strong organizational, time management and priority setting skills

· High level of English fluency for speaking, reading and writing

· Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimum supervision

· Proven ability to make informed decisions without unnecessary delay

· Class Five Driver’s License (no GDL) and a clean drivers abstract

RECEPTIONIST - CORPORATE HEAD OFFICE

As part of our ever-expanding workforce, the Commissionaires – Southern Alberta is accepting applications for a Receptionist. Reporting to the Senior Manager, People Services Department; the Receptionist is responsible for providing receptionist services to the Corporate Head Office.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Meet and greet all incoming Clients, Board Members and other Visitors directing their enquiries to the appropriate individual

· Administer employment applications including testing and forward to Recruiters

· Receive and action all vacation requests and distribute as required

· Be the first point of contact for in-coming phone calls and transfer to the appropriate department

  • Create correspondence and distribute as needed

· Book appointments for employment interviews, Identification Services and Supply Section

  • Monitor email and fax accounts and forwarded as needed
  • Accept and process Point of Sale Transactions

Position Requirements

· Administrative Professionals Certificate or equivalent (preferred) or an acceptable combination of education and experience

· Intermediate to Advanced computer skills (most notably Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

· Well-developed ability to multi-task in a very fast paced and sometimes demanding environment

  • Knowledge of HRIS (strong asset)

· Enthusiastic and self-motivated with strong organizational, time management and priority setting skills

  • Point of sales experience (preferred)

· Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to form and maintain long-term positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders

· Effective written and verbal presentation skills: English essential.

· Recent Canadian Forces or RCMP service (strong asset).
